On Sunday, February 6, 1938, a group of townspeople (none of whom I recognize) visited the filling station that my grandfather had opened on the northwest edge of Livermore to sell D-X gasoline.  In the background is the gym at the rear of the school building.  The rest of the town lies beyond.
