Sometime
in the mid to late 1940s, three Cambridge neighbors gather for
dinner in the kitchen. My mother is on the right. Sarah
Gibson, the wife of my mother's cousin Cecil Gibson, is in the
center. And Opal Van Dyne
on the left is wearing the apron, so I assume she prepared the
meal. It appears to feature sliced roast beef, mashed potatoes
and gravy, and dill pickles.
