In language classes, we were called to the blackboard to deconstruct sentences.

Kathie Davis ‘67, the student in the middle above, appears to be diagramming this statement for her teacher Christine Dilger:  “I have mended the rips and tears in the screens on the back porch.” 

Other classes, such as the one on the right taught by Marjorie Goddard, required us to conjugate verbs.
