Big Pic
|
In 1951, the employees of Charles H. Sipe Chevrolet attended the company's family picnic at a park near Cambridge, Ohio. In this portion of the group photo, Mr. Sipe is indicated by the blue circle. My parents and I are marked with red circles. I offer this picture as proof that even at the age of 4½, I was a fashion trendsetter, being among the first to wear a baseball cap backwards. This picnic may also have been the scene of a dimly-remembered incident in which I happened upon a small pile of discarded ice cubes. A big fuzzy bumblebee was crawling over the ice, and I tried to pet it with predictable results.
