This article, written in October 2006, disappeared from my files when I changed over to a "blog" format three months later.  It was originally described thus on my monthly home page:

This Can't Be Improved.
In other words, it's hopeless.  Or is it perfect?  Here are two more examples of amgibuity.

Having lost the original page, I owe you two more examples, don't I?  Here are five.

She Threw Out One Proposal.  (She offered it, or she rejected it?)

Tomorrow We Should Do Better.  (We're likely to do better, or we ought to do better?)

That L-Shaped Piece Is Unbending.  (It resists deformation, or it's spontaneously straightening out as we speak?)

He Decided Immediately To Retire.  (A split infinitive, To Immediately Retire, would be clearer.  But the original sentence could also be understood as He Immediately Decided to Retire as soon as he reached retirement age.)

She Never Saw a Dog and Didn't Smile.  (She avoided animals and perpetually frowned, or she never failed to smile at dogs?)

And elsewhere I cited "Your money is no good here."

Also, check out some contronyms from Mental Floss.
